  • HISTORY ASPECTS:
  • The B-25 Mitchell medium bomber, exemplified by the iconic "Panchito," played a pivotal role during World War II, particularly in the Pacific and European Theaters. It was manufactured in 1944 and named after the feisty rooster character in Disney's "The Three Caballeros." This particular B-25J was utilized for a variety of missions during its wartime service.
  • The B-25 Mitchell is named in honor of General Billy Mitchell, a United States Army general who is widely regarded as the father of the US Air Force. The B-25 is a two-engine propeller driven aircraft with an H-tail configuration and is considered to be a safe and reliable aircraft. It was used extensively during World War II by the Allies, especially on the Pacific Front.
  • Panchito was assigned to Captain Don Sailer of the 396th Bomb Group in the Central Pacific. He named it after the feisty Mexican rooster from the 1943 animated musical "Three Caballeros". It was restored to vintage flying conditions in 1986. It is available for rides at various air shows across the country and is based out of the Delaware Aviation Museum Foundation in Georgetown, DE.
  • In the Pacific Theater, B-25s like "Panchito" were famously employed in the daring Doolittle Raid of April 1942, a morale-boosting mission that struck the Japanese homeland in the early months of America's involvement in World War II. These aircraft, often operating from aircraft carriers, were instrumental in disrupting Japanese shipping lanes and providing support for Allied ground forces throughout the Pacific.
  • Every detail is meticulously reproduced, from the nose art to the accurate paint scheme, making it an excellent addition to any aviation collection or a cherished gift for history buffs. This 1:100 scale model commemorates the indomitable spirit of the B-25 Mitchell and the courage of the crews who flew these missions during one of the most significant conflicts in world history.
